In a move that upends one of Stockton’s City Council races, District 5 candidate Desiree Lynch announced Friday she is ending her campaign.
Andrea Baltodano explains how weeks of controversy surrounding Lynch’s residency led to the decision to withdraw from the upcoming election, although her name will remain on the November ballot in the contest against Councilmember Brando Villapudua.
In other local government news, a special Stockton City Council meeting ended without a decision on who will serve as acting city clerk during a temporary absence by Katherine Roland. And former Stockton acting City Attorney Taryn Jones has been selected as Lodi’s next city attorney.
