The owner of a small Stockton business has announced her candidacy for the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors District 3 seat.

Angel Sepulveda, a San Joaquin County native, is hoping to represent a district that covers Lathrop, Manteca and Stockton in the March 5, 2024 election.

Currently the seat is held by Tom Patti, who was elected in 2016 and has also served as chairman of the Board of Supervisors.

Sepulveda said in a press release that she opened her own State Farm Insurance Agency in 2014 and has given her time and effort to various organizations throughout the county such as San Joaquin County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Stockton, the Boys and Girls Club of Stockton, and the Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Joaquin.

“The people of the 3rd Supervisorial District need a supervisor who has walked in their shoes and dealt with their everyday concerns on a personal level,” Sepulveda said. “As a small business owner, I have faced the issues our small businesses face.  As an active community volunteer, I have given my time and sweat equity to numerous causes to help improve our quality of life here in San Joaquin County.”
