Another boy has been arrested in the shooting death of Julian Martinez, 17, near Stockton’s Anderson Park.

Two suspects, ages 13 and 16, were already in custody in connection with the Feb. 1 fatal shooting.

On Wednesday, police booked a third suspect in the case — a 14-year-old who already was in custody at San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall on an unrelated weapons charge. Now, he has also been booked on suspicion of homicide and robbery in addition to the weapons charges, police said.

Because all of the suspects are minors, none has been identified.

On the night of Martinez’s death, officers arrived at 10 p.m. and found him suffering from a gunshot wound, police said at the time. He was rushed to a hospital, where he later died.

The teen’s life was celebrated two weeks later at a memorial at an American Legion post. His family told KOVR-TV/CBS13 that Martinez was shot after he and a friend had gone skateboarding at the park late at night.

To family, his nickname was his initials, “JAM,” a lovable, goofy kid who died too young.
