A 17-year-old remained in critical condition Friday while authorities released the identity of another boy killed in the same shooting in Stockton’s Seaport District earlier this week.

The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s office identified Isaic Aromin-Quintoa of Stockton as the teen who was shot to death Wednesday night.

Aromin-Quintoa, 17, was with the other boy near Lafayette and San Joaquin streets when they were struck by gunfire, police said in a report.

Both boys were rushed to the hospital by arriving officers. Aromin-Quintoa died, and his companion was treated for injuries termed “life-threatening” by police.

While it was not immediately clear how severe the other teen’s injuries are, police on Friday said he was in critical condition. He has not been identified.

Aromin-Quintoa’s death is the ninth homicide in Stockton this year, compared to 14 at this time a year ago, officers said. Detectives are investigating the double shooting, but so far, no motive or suspects have been revealed.

The homicide is the second in recent months of Stockton youth. On Feb. 1, Julian Martinez, who also was 17, was shot to death near Anderson Park. Three suspects — ages 13, 14 and 16 — have been arrested in connection with that slaying.
