The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the second teen who died following an April shooting in Stockton as 17-year-old Marques Yarbrough.
On the night of April 9, Stockton police responded to reports of gunfire near Lafayette and South San Joaquin streets shortly after 10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found two 17-year-old boys suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both were taken to the hospital, where Isaic Aromin-Quintoa was pronounced dead later that night. The second teen, later identified as Yarbrough, remained hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and died five days later.
The San Joaquin County coroner confirmed Yarbrough’s identity to Stocktonia on Monday.
Police have not announced any arrests in connection to the shooting or released any suspect information. The investigation remains ongoing.
